Disaster Supply Checklist
Emergencies come in all shapes and sizes. Here are materials that you should have on hand in the event of a weather or manmade disaster.
- Dehumidifier
- Battery-operated or hand-crank NOAA Weather Radio to get critical information from the National Weather Service
- 50 ft. extension cord (grounded)
- Portable electric fan
- Wet vacuum
- Paper towels and sponges
- Mop and broom
- Gloves (rubber/leather), rubber boots and aprons for cleanup
- Plastic Sheeting or tarps
- Scissors and duct tape
- Hurricane lamp and oil
- Emergency contact information for your business, including vendors, employees and local repair firms
- Camera to take photos of damage
- Water
- Food (non-perishable)
- Flashlight
- Extra batteries
- First-aid kit
- Multi-purpose tool
- Emergency blanket
- Map(s) of the area
- Tools/supplies for securing your business (hammer, nails, tarps; if you have storage available, plywood)
- Extra set of keys
