Disaster Supply Checklist

Emergencies come in all shapes and sizes. Here are materials that you should have on hand in the event of a weather or manmade disaster.

  1. Dehumidifier
  2. Battery-operated or hand-crank NOAA Weather Radio to get critical information from the National Weather Service
  3. 50 ft. extension cord (grounded)
  4. Portable electric fan
  5. Wet vacuum
  6. Paper towels and sponges
  7. Mop and broom
  8. Gloves (rubber/leather), rubber boots and aprons for cleanup
  9. Plastic Sheeting or tarps
  10. Scissors and duct tape
  11. Hurricane lamp and oil
  12. Emergency contact information for your business, including vendors, employees and local repair firms
  13. Camera to take photos of damage
  14. Water
  15. Food (non-perishable)
  16. Flashlight
  17. Extra batteries
  18. First-aid kit
  19. Multi-purpose tool
  20. Emergency blanket
  21. Map(s) of the area
  22. Tools/supplies for securing your business (hammer, nails, tarps; if you have storage available, plywood)
  23. Extra set of keys
